Korey is very shy and tries to keep to herself. Despite this, she's very ambitious and adventurous. Her hobbies include hunting, reading, and making pottery. Her father died when she was four and her mother is the local potter. She is an only child and only has two very good friends. She helps her mother make pottery and other art.
THE REAPING
Korey attended the reaping. She had put in for as much tesserae as she could. She wore a dress that her friend had lended her. She knew if she got picked that her mother would need everything extra she could get. She was nervous because she didn't want to leave her mom alone, and also didn't want to get up in front of everyone. Her name was called and she froze until her friend pushed her out into the aisle. Korey caught a glimpse of horror on her mother's face and walked up to the stage, her head down the whole way. She'd had experience hunting before her father died, but knew it was different than hunting people. A bullet could only travel so fast, and Korey could only hope she'd be faster.

THE TRIBUTE PARADE
Korey had seen the past tribute parades and had hoped for something like Finn Cressy's outfit. Light and flowing, which her stylist delivered on. Her outfit and Dahlia's contrasted each other. Her's was the past and Dahlia's the future. The light and airy dress was to represent Artemis as she was. Dahlia's was the interpretation of her as a human.
Her stylist runs over and puts a small rainbow pin under the leather strap on her outfit.
"For good luck.” Korey smiles at the words.
"Nobody can see it, right?" She wanted to keep it secret at all costs, fearing that revealing her sexuality would cost her the games.
"Nobody can see it," the stylist says as the chariot rolls out. She smiles at the crowd and waves, the experience feeling exhilarating. Everyone cheering her name was something she'd never felt. It was new, but she liked it.
Afterwards, she got off the chariot and started checking out everyone's horses. She walks over to the District Three chariot as the tributes are stepping off, enchanted by their horses. Korey watches as the boy seems to struggle with something on his hand.
"Need some help there?" She couldn't help but laugh a little at him. He said he was fine, but Korey knew better. "Stop struggling, you'll make it worse." She stepped closer to him and started working to get his hand freed from the bandage. He looked at her and then looked down, almost ashamed that he needed help.
"Thank you,” he says. Her smile is kind and he lets himself relax a little.
“It's no problem,” she replies, laughter in her voice. “I'm Korey.”
“I'm Neon.” He sticks his hand out to shake hers, and then they are both laughing. Korey is so caught up in the act that she accidentally lets part of her costume slip, revealing the flag pin to him.

TRAINING
Korey Sherman received a training score of 7.
Training days
Korey went into training and decided that the only thing she needed to do was sharpen up on her knife throwing skills. She hadn't had any time to practice. During lunch, she went over to eat with Neon and some of the other tributes. He introduced her to Leoni, who she quickly befriended.
Private session
She walked into the room and immediately picked up the set of knives. Korey figured she wouldn't say anything, hoping it would calm her nerves. She walked over to the targets and started throwing them. She missed one and cursed herself under her breath. She smiled up at the gamemakers and left after they dismissed her.
THE INTERVIEW
Hello, you look dazzling tonight! Tell us about your outfit.
Thank you! It's more extravagant than I would've liked but it's still so pretty. The blue dress and the strappy white heels are beautiful, but the gold earrings and locket really ties everything together.
How do you like being in the Capitol so far? What has been your favorite part?
I've enjoyed it. I think my favorite part… let me think here for a second. I think my favorite part has been the horses at the parade.
Any thoughts about the other tributes? Have you made any friends, or enemies?
I've made pretty good friends with the tributes from District Three and a few others here and there. But as far as enemies, I can't think of any.
Do you think you have what it takes to become a victor? Who or what are you fighting for?
Of course! Anyone has what it takes if you try your hardest and believe in yourself! I'm fighting for my mother back home. My father passed away and I'm her only child.
Do you have any expectations for the arena? Perhaps a preferred terrain?
I would absolutely LOVE if the arena was woods. I hunt a lot in District Ten, so covered terrain would be preferred.
What do you miss most from your home district? Any shoutouts for anyone back home?
I miss my mom and my friends. I miss waking up every morning to the sunrise and smelling my mother's cooking in the kitchen.
Any last thoughts before we let you go?
I just want everyone to know that I'm aware I'm not the more favorable victor. But I will do what I can to win.
