AURIA GREY | DISTRICT 6

Caesar: Good evening, Auria! Tell us about what you're wearing tonight.
Auria: I’m wearing this beautiful gray dress that my stylist chose, he thinks the color gray means sophisticated or classy. I don’t think I’m either of those but maybe thats what he hopes I’ll act like to charm the people in the capitol. Do you think it’s working Caesar? This necklace is my district token that my mom gave to me when I started my small business selling concoctions in District 11, I’ve been wearing it since,

What have you thought about the Capitol so far? What's your favorite part?
The Capitol is everything I imagined it to be like, I never wanted to be here for this reason but the people are very delightful and welcoming and it’s hard to not like the capitol lifestyle. The whole atmosphere is also way more lively than District 11.

Are you nervous? With this being a Quarter Quell, what are your thoughts on the twist?
This twist definitely adds a new challenge to the tributes and the audience. I think it would be more fun for the people in the capitol watching. It’s also going to be interesting to us in the arena, to see how the audience think.

What kind of arena are you hoping for this year?
I’m hoping for an arena that all of us from the different districts can work with, maybe something like a field or a forest with lots of greenery. Though that does seem very unlikely seeing as how clever the Gamemakers are and how they always make the arena very intricate and complicated.

Do you feel prepared? What did you think of your training score? (Auria received a score of 9).
I feel prepared enough for the games, my training score was a 9, which i’m very happy with considering I’m from one of the outlier districts!

Do you think you have what it takes to become a victor? Who are you fighting for?
I think to be a victor you need to know what or who you’re winning for, I rarely see the few victors from District 11 which makes me wonder how they are after winning the games. Your heart needs to be in the right place, knowing you might not see the people you love again just makes you want to fight even harder. Although I might do things in that arena that I’ll regret for the rest of my life, I don’t want these games to make me who I’m not. But in the end, I would do anything to go back home.

Any shoutouts for anyone back home?
Of course! To my family who have supported me with everything I do, my best friend Maia who’s always been there for me, my mentor and stylist, and of course everyone back home in District 11. I miss you all so much!

Thoughts on the other tributes? Have you made any notable friends or enemies?
All the other tributes seem very talented, lots of volunteers. Fortunately I haven’t made any enemies but I have made a few friends, and I think that’s very important especially this year.

Any last thoughts before we let you go?
There is this one sentence I read in a book when I was younger that went something like this, “it’s not what the world holds for you, it’s what you bring to it” It really does make sense now. I could just be just a forgotten tribute in the games, but theres also nothing wrong in thinking that you could leave a good impact on the world with every little thing you do.
