KAI ALBACORE

CELEBRATE THE VICTOR OF THE SECOND QUARTER QUELL

Hailing from District 4, Kai Albacore has quickly become a popular fixture here in the Capitol. After he volunteered to take the place of a 12 year old boy at his reaping, Kai dazzled in the tribute parade, wearing things reminiscent of his home district, such as a seashell crown and Lionfish wings. Being incredibly proficient with a trident and net, Kai scored a 10 in training and during his interview with Caesar, he discussed his love for the Capitol food as well as his preparedness for the games. And prepared he was; Kai faced many muttations in the arena including giant crabs, modified stingrays, and vicious mermaids. Part of the Infinity Alliance and feast victor twice, he was a force to be reckoned with. Kai sustained a few near-fatal injuries, including losing his eye (which has since been replaced by a top-of-the-line Capitol prosthetic). Despite all this, Kai powered through and came out victorious. The brother of three talks regret and the future in his victory interview with Caesar Flickerman, which you can read by clicking the button below.

Read on to hear a few words from Kai's mentor.

Mentor: @ruespanem

Caesar: What was your first thought when Kai won?

@ruespanem: I was stoked! I had been hoping that he would win and not have a death like Nathan’s last year, and he really proved himself!

What would you like to tell your tribute?

I am so incredibly proud of you! You worked hard and showed everyone who you are so the victory was more than earned, it was deserved. Now you get to be a mentor and take on the games from a different perspective. Congratulations, Kai!

Are there any sponsors you want to shout out?

There are so, so many sponsors that I could shout out because we wouldn’t be here today without them, but the ones who come to mind, off the top of my head, are @dearestmockingjay (Nicole) . I had the pleasure to work with her during last year’s games and she has been an ongoing supporter of Kai’s. I’m forever grateful for her. And also Kirra (@catastrophekatniss), Anne (@catospotatoes), and Jess (@multi.edits.a5), but really everyone who sponsored, whether they were donated or brought in throughout the games! We wouldn’t be here without you! We’re so grateful!
