Skye is a very fierce competitor, even though her district is not known for well trained tributes, as she comes from District 7. She is a very good student in school, as that’s all anyone knows about her. No one knows that she takes time everyday after school to go and train. She is sick of seeing career districts winning each and every year, and wants to prove everyone wrong. Her personality is very closed off, but she has a good heart. Her older sister, Luna died in previous games, giving her more motivation to win.
THE REAPING
At the reaping, Skye arrived with her mother, the only family she had left. A girl from her school was reaped for the games, as she shook as they called her name. Skye immediately volunteered without even a second thought. She knew she had to do this.
THE TRIBUTE PARADE
Skye felt proud at the tribute parade. She had this intense feeling of excitement, knowing that she was representing her district. She was not used to all eyes being on her, but knew she could handle it. As Skye and the other girl from District 7 came out of the tunnel, Skye immediately waved to the crowd. Everyone quickly noticed the “snake” earrings and snakeskin shoes Skye was wearing. Her mother & schoolmates back home gave her the nickname “snake” as she was quick, and would sneak up on them.

TRAINING
Skye received a training score of 9
TRAINING DAYS
Skye’s brown eyes widened at the sight of the training center. She’s never seen anything like it before and was overwhelmed, at first. During Skye’s first three days of training, she worked on things that she wasn’t as skilled with. She started with the survival skills, as she learned how to do basic skills, like making traps, and how to find food. Back in District 7, Skye is very familiar with wood from trees. As she was easily able to make a fire at the station. Skye also decided to do something people from her District don’t normally do. Ally with a different district. What district? You’ll have to find out in the arena. She knew that working from her District will just bring her memories of home, and she didn’t want that. Skye wanted to be a new person in the arena, leaving her past behind her. As far as weapons go, she had to show what she could do to her new allies. But other than that, she kept her throwing knife skills on the down low.

PRIVATE SESSION
The Private Session with the gamemakers came more easily to her then she imagined. It was almost like second nature to her, especially when she had her knives by her side. The knives she’s been practicing with for years. Skye thought in the back of her head as she walked in, “Why do the same ol’ thing?” as tributes normally show their talent in an ordinary way. She could’ve gone in and knocked a few targets down, but she wanted to make an impact on these gamemakers. She didn’t just want to be some outcast from District 7 that is ok with a throwing knife. She wanted to stand out. As Skye finally held her knives, eyes on the target, she flipped the knives backwards. The point of the knife, going towards her. The Gamemakers eyes widened, some even laughed, at the thought of this District 7 girl having any talent. Skye let go of the first knife, then the second, and the third. All three hitting the target, straight on. One knife almost cutting her hand, as she threw it backwards. She didn’t say a word to the Gamemakers and walked out, as she could her their voices mumble as the door came to a halt. A smirk formed on her face, “This is gonna be good”, she thought.
INTERVIEW
Caesar: Hello Skye, you look amazing tonight! Tell us about your outfit.
Skye: Hi. Thank you. My outfit is a dark green and black base dress. The dress is rather ordinary from the front - but the back is stunning. A gold tinted snake is going up the back of the dress. The snake almost looks real. I mentioned a small detail to my stylist and mentor a while ago, about how I was called “snake” in my hometown. I love how well they tied this both into my tribute parade and interview outfit. They really outdid themselves here though, if I may say. It is paired with unique black high heels. My stylist insisted for me to have my hair down, as during the tribute parade it was up. As far as my makeup goes, my stylists went for a darker eyeliner to match the dress. This outfit is surely my favorite so far, and I’m really surprised how much it fits me.
How are you liking the Capitol so far? What’s been your favorite part?
I am enjoying the Capitol. It’s a lot different than anything I have ever known. My favorite part here is how many weapons there are. Back home, I had to train behind my house, throwing at a stack of hay. But out here in the Capitol, it almost feels like I have endless training rooms to train in. This is truly the best part.
What do you think of the other tributes this year? Any friends to speak of, or perhaps, enemies?
The tributes this year I can tell will be fierce competitors. Some with low training scores, others with rather high ones. I honestly don’t know what to expect, as really anything can happen, no matter what your training score. The careers stand out to me, along with another few tributes I have my eyes on. The thing that surprised me the most about this year - how many volunteers there were. I’ve never seen anything like it. Normally there is a volunteer from both Districts 1 and 2. But to see other districts have volunteers truly shocked me. I’m not big on friends. Never have been. I would rather be alone and only trust myself, but I decided to take another alternative for these games. I feel like the worst thing would be to go in alone. You have to start out with somebody. I found an alliance early on when I got to the Capitol. Which alliance? You’ll have to wait and see.
Do you think you have what it takes to become a victor? Who or what are you fighting for?
I absolutely have what it takes to be a victor. I’m very competitive and don’t take losing lightly. I would rather die than go back home after a loss. I have high expectations for myself, and always have. I know that will take me a long way. Especially when I have been training for years now. There is not a specific “who” or “what” that I am fighting for. I am truly fighting for myself. I don’t have much family left, as in one of the older games, my sister died in the bloodbath. We were all expecting it, but when it happened it hit my whole family hard. So if there was a “who” it would be my sister, and for myself. Maybe even for my District. I feel like Seven gets just such a bad rep, and I’m over it. Fierce competitors can come from Seven, just as much as they come from One or Two.
What kind of arena are you hoping for?
I am hoping for a colder arena. I feel like that would knock a few tributes right off the bat, whether they got hypothermia or just freeze to death. I am very trained in cold weather conditions, as it takes me a long time to feel “cold”. Some of my schoolmates think I have something in my blood that doesn’t make me cold. The arena honestly doesn’t bother me, it’s the muttations that come with it. No matter how long or how hard you’ve trained, muttations are unpredictable. One wrong move and you’re done. But to answer the question: a cold arena, with the least amount of muttations. I would love to see an arena where the tributes “fight” more instead of the mutations doing all the killing. What’s the fun with that?
What do you miss most from your home district? Any shoutouts for anyone back home?
Tricky question. I don’t really “miss” anything, in particular. I just miss the feeling of being in my District. No eyes on me, just my knives and I. I certainly don’t mind it out here in the Capitol, it just takes a lot to get used to. Living all these years with little to no recognition, and now everyone in Panem is watching every move I make. It’s definitely a weird, but proud feeling. Knowing that I will make my District known, in the end. I have a shout out to my mother back home: “Mom, I know we haven’t been close, in a while. But I just want to tell you that I am so thankful for everything you have done for me. You’ve lost one daughter, but you’re not going to lose another. I’m not going down without a fight”.
Any last thoughts before we let you go?
All of Panem you might think you “know” me from these past couple of weeks. But, you all have a lot of things coming. I plan to bring my A game to the arena, and I already have many tricks up my sleeve. I don’t wear the “snake” on my interview and tribute parade outfits for no reason. You will definitely be seeing that in the future, along with other surprises from me. Thank you, Caesar, for interviewing me. I appreciate it.
